Market Link Entrepreneur

Marketlink is an active and practical programme on the first year of the Marketing and Management Degree programme. It allows students from a variety of disciplines to develop and market their own business idea, with all profits going to charities chosen by the students themselves.

Marketlink 2019 raised just over €5,000 for Limerick Suicide Watch, Bru Columbanus, Cork City Hospital’s Children’s Club, Jigsaw Limerick and the Butterfly Club Limerick, while bringing some Christmas cheer to TUS and the local community, and adding to the funds raised since 2009. Marketlink is TUS’s eight-week multidisciplinary careers, innovation and entrepreneurship programme for 3rd Level undergraduate students studying in Limerick Institute of Technology. This programme assists students interested in areas such as finding out how to identify new business opportunities, learning how to evaluate business ideas, and developing interpersonal skills to include presentation, teamwork, networking, and communication. Students from our Marketing and Management, Social Care Work, and Accounting and Finance courses work in groups to develop their business right through from the initial concept to the final launch, which takes place at Marketlink. The event is open to TUS students, staff, local schools and members of the general public,

Following on from our first online Marketlink which took place from November 15th to the 26th 2021 , we raised €3,588.54 thanks to your generosity. This year our Limerick based charity was Cliona’s (for families with a seriously sick child). The money raised will provide financial assistance directly to parents of children with life-limiting or chronic complex care needs to help with the non-medical expenses related to caring for their child. The event this year comprised students from Marketing and Management, Enterprise and Innovation and Digital Marketing students.
